Real Time Credit Authorization at Cardlocks

Co-op is introducing an important system enhancement designed to make fueling more secure and efficient for all members.

What’s Changing

This fall, the Co-op Cardlock system across Western Canada will be upgraded to include real-time credit authorization.
This means that each fuel transaction will be approved based on your current available Co-op credit account balance. Purchases will be authorized only up to your established credit limit, helping protect your account from unauthorized or fraudulent activity and improving the accuracy of account management.

What This Means for You

Your existing Cardlock card will continue to work as usual. However, to ensure uninterrupted fueling, we encourage all members to:

  • Review your current credit limit.
  • Make sure it accurately reflects your typical or highest monthly fuel usage.
  • There is one credit limit for all your Co-op purchases, cardlock, bulk fuel, home centre, farm supply or any other Legacy Co-op location draws from the same account limit.  Purchases in other departments will affect the balance for fueling.

If your current limit may not meet your needs, complete the Application for Credit Limit Increase (below) and return it to any Legacy Co-op location or submit by e-mail to credit@legacycoop.ca
