SEPTEMBER 30: NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION
September 25, 2025

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to remember the missing children and survivors of residential schools and their families and communities. This federal holiday is a response to the Truth and Reconciliation’s Call to Action #80. On this Indigenous-led day of recognition, people wear an orange shirt to honour residential school survivors, those who did not survive, and their descendants.

Legacy Co-op will mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by recognizing it as a Statutory Day across our organization. Our Administration office will be closed, C-Stores will maintain regular hours and our stores will operate STAT hours as outlined below.

We encourage our Team Members and our Members to use this day to find time for quiet reflection, to recognize and become educated on the impacts and harmful legacy of residential schools, to find ways to participate in meaningful acts of reconciliation and healing, and to participate in events occurring throughout the community.
