Legacy Co-op member receives substantial equity return
October 28, 2026

During Co-op Week, a delegation from Legacy Co-op was proud to stop by a loyal member's farmyard to deliver a substantial equity cheque.

For 60 years, Gordie has been farming the land and, after this season wraps up, he'll be passing the torch to the next generation on the family farm. As we visited, he reflected on his experience with Co-op:

"The Co-op has served us well and my only regret is that I should have switched years ago. The service is the best. I never phone for fuel. You can't put a price on that."

Those words meant a lot to fuel driver Aaron Fisher, who has been with Legacy Co-op for more than 12 years and has been delivering to Gordie's yard for the past decade. As the conversation continued, Gordie had nothing but great things to say about Aaron and the service he has received over the years.

At Co-op, membership means more than great service. Equity is the amount of ownership you're growing within your local Co-op. Each year, allocations are added to members' equity accounts, and local Co-op boards determine how much is returned to members in cash.

As Legacy Co-op Petroleum Manager Doug Forster explained, "We always talk to our customers about equity. This is proof of how it works."

Stories like Gordie's are a reminder that being a Co-op member means sharing in the success of your local Co-op while building lasting relationships along the way.

Thank you, Gordie, for your years of support, and we wish your family all the best as a new generation takes the reins!
