Kraft Heinz Groceries for Good Food Donation
Legacy Co-op is proud to announce a donation of $2000.00 worth of Kraft Heinz products to SIGN Family Resource Centre Kamsack. The donation was made possible with the Kraft Heinz Groceries for Good contest, helping to feed food banks across Canada.
Kraft Heinz entered stores that purchased participating products into the contest, Legacy Co-op Kamsack Food Store was surprised to be chosen as a winner. “I was not expecting to win the contest, Kamsack is a small town so our chances to win a contest like this is slim,” said Allyssa Galang, Kamsack Food Store Manager Trainee.
As part of the contest, Kraft Heinz requested that the Kamsack Food Store team scan as many eligible items as possible through the till, up to $2,000. The resulting donation included a significant amount of Kraft Dinner, peanut butter, pasta sauce, baked beans, ketchup, BBQ sauce, and stuffing mix.
The Legacy Co-op Kamsack Food team helped to prepare the donation, loading it into a pickup truck, and delivering it to SIGN Kamsack. “We’re very grateful to help in any way to give back to community, especially since we know that the economy is tough right now and the donation will help a lot of families in need. We’re so happy that we can support SIGN Kamsack and very excited that we can help our community.” Allyssa, along with her team were happy to see the tangible affects of the donation in Kamsack.
Megan Holodniuk, SIGN Kamsack expressed her gratitude, “We want to thank Legacy Co-op Kamsack for generously thinking of us for their food donation from Kraft-Heinz: we will get this out to families in need as quickly as we can! The Kamsack Co-op team has generously thought of us through so many of their amazing charity programs and we can’t thank them enough for their support over the years. The staff there truly care about their Kamsack community and deserve so many thanks not just from us, but from the community as well.”
